Overview: TradeCafe is a high-scale commodity trading platform supporting the full supplier-to-deal lifecycle. The platform enables competitive bidding where buyers place bids on supplier offers, and suppliers evaluate and select optimal bids.
Technical Leadership:
- Partnered with CTO and stakeholders to shape trading workflows and translate complex business rules into scalable solutions
- Led engineering team providing architectural direction, design reviews, and ensuring high-quality delivery
- Owned technical strategy for four core domains: Supplier Offers, Matched Offers, My Bids, and Deals
Architecture & Engineering:
- Designed resilient microservices architecture handling 30,000+ daily transactions
- Implemented event-driven communication with Kafka for service decoupling and data consistency
- Built high-performance search with Elasticsearch over millions of records
- Created product analytics layer with API-driven dashboards for real-time monitoring
- Established service-owned databases and async messaging for independent scaling
Innovation:
- Integrated AI-assisted workflows (ChatGPT, Claude) for architectural reviews and automated PR reviews
- Implemented observability-first practices with Kibana for centralized logging and monitoring
- Created internal service SDKs standardizing API usage across teams
